After you left I spoke with Chase. The first part has been lost, so below is what I could remember of it. There are probably pieces missing;

[ Chase ]: Not ready to follow your lady?
[ Kidman ]: That story…about the dog…
[ Chase ]: You’re not a dog.
[ Kidman ]: I can’t hide under there forever
[ Chase ]: Not even close.
[ Kidman ]: If I want to be of any use…
[ Kidman ]: Carmen…
[ Kidman ]: Don’t you touch her
Kidman takes a step back.
[ Chase ]: I can’t promise you that.
[ Chase ]: She chose this for herself
[ Kidman ]: You must understand then why I must fear you.
[ Chase ]: You have every right to.
[ Kidman ]: I understand you cannot stop the machine…but I fear you will be pulled into it..
[ Chase ]: Believe me, if I could have stopped this machine I would.
[ Kidman ]: You care for her, don’t you?
[ Chase ]: I don’t have the luxury to consider it.
[ Kidman ]: It is not a decision one is allowed to make.
[ Chase ]: It can’t even be considered.
[ Kidman ]: It has already been made.
[ Chase ]: I suppose it has.

(…)

[ Chase ]: She knew what she was getting into.
[ Kidman ]: This is true…
[ Kidman ]: It’s futile, then, isn’t it?
[ Chase ]: She doesn’t seem to think so.
[ Kidman ]: She’s a lot stronger than I am.
[ Chase ]: I have to admit, I think she’s stronger than I am.
[ Kidman ]: Perhaps it is because she doesn’t look down.
[ Chase ]: She doesn’t see a need to look down.
[ Kidman ]: But there is necessary knowledge down there. It could ruin her if she doesn’t look.
[ Chase ]: She could fall if she looks down. I’d rather she kept going.
[ Kidman ]: I will look for her.
[ Kidman ]: She didn’t go for the sake of the darkness, her path just leads through it.

Saved starts below:

[ Chase ]: I don’t believe in fate.
[ Kidman ]: You seem to.
[ Chase ]: I think about it, but there's always that point... in life.
[ Chase ]: There's an opportunity to do something you didn't know was possible.
[ Kidman ]: Perhaps there is hope for us both, then.
[ Chase ]: Me, I'll be okay.
[ Chase ]: I'm on this side of the law, I have the public behind me.
[ Kidman ]: It may seem rude of me, but I am more worried of your actions toward her.
[ Chase ]: I can't say the same for you.
[ Chase ]: My actions towards Carmen?
[ Kidman ]: My life is somewhat...neglible.
[ Kidman ]: What you do with your ship will affect hers. That is the nature of the dance.
[ Kidman ]: What you are likely to do, and what you will.
[ Kidman ]: When the time comes.
[ Chase ]: Right.
[ Chase ]: I know exactly what you mean then.
[ Chase ]: Because, for sure, I can't let her go free.
[ Chase ]: Not after the tower heist.
[ Kidman ]: And why is that? Wounded pride?
[ Chase ]: If it were only up to me, then it wouldn't be a problem.
[ Chase ]: But there's ACME, governments, people... that'll want answers.
[ Chase ]: At least some kind of closure... and someone to take the blame.
[ Kidman ]: When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.
[ Kidman ]: Besides, no one really wants her caught. They think they do, but then the story ends.
[ Chase ]: Technically, it does.
[ Kidman ]: Technically?
[ Chase ]: A person's story keeps going as long as they're still alive.
[ Chase ]: I admire the fact that she doesn't kill.
[ Kidman ]: I suppose then, the option would exist for her to escape afterwards.
[ Chase ]: And, in turn, I'm going to make sure she isn't hurt in any way.
[ Chase ]: That's up to debate.
[ Chase ]: I don't know if she'll get caught.
[ Chase ]: I think we both know that's entirely up to her.
[ Kidman ]: I suppose it is.
[ Kidman ]: But knowing she will be safe, as safe can be, with you, is a blessing.
[ Kidman ]: As much as one can know such things.
[ Chase ]: I'm not out for blood. How could anyone be? She hasn't done anything in that sense.
[ Kidman ]: I still sense... something else.
[ Kidman ]: Do be mindful of it...
[ Chase ]: And it's not entirely me you might have to worry about.
[ Kidman ]: Yes, I have my fears of some of the others.
[ Chase ]: It's her too.
[ Kidman ]: Hm?
[ Chase ]: (Have you read 'Roll with It'?)
[ Kidman ]: (I think I have. In the desert, yes?)
[ Chase ]: Right, where she trashes Lee's car.
[ Kidman ]: *chuckles*
[ Kidman ]: Yes...
[ Chase ]: She has her own... train of thought.
[ Chase ]: Don't let her lose her head.
[ Kidman ]: One would have to to survive out there.
[ Kidman ]: Ah, you mean that.
[ Kidman ]: I'm not sure how affective I can be on that end.
[ Chase ]: Right
[ Chase ]: Doesn't matter, just remind her sometime.
[ Kidman ]: Question her?
[ Kidman ]: I suppose I'll have to learn how to.
[ Kidman ]: For her sake.
[ Chase ]: I think she's already attached to you.
[ Kidman ]: *confused* I... no, she's just kind to everyone.
[ Chase ]: She's a lot warmer than people give her credit for.
[ Chase ]: She's kind, but she doesn't always watch them.
[ Kidman ]: This, this much I know...
[ Chase ]: She watches you.
[ Kidman ]: What? What do you mean?
[ Chase ]: Can't really describe it.
[ Chase ]: I noticed something... and I thought I'd share.
[ Chase ]: She's usually a lot 'colder'.
[ Kidman ]: *somewhat nervous* Oh, I....I'm sure you're mistaken, but, thank you anyway.
[ Kidman ]: I should go.
[ Chase ]: That's a weird reaction.
[ Kidman ]: ...
[ Chase ]: Like you're afraid you're going to break her in half or something.
[ Kidman ]: *absently touches the scars on her face*
[ Kidman ]: I don't want....
[ Chase ]: Looks like I'm not the one with the secret.
[ Kidman ]: I'm sorry
[ Chase ]: Don't be sorry.
[ Chase ]: For some reason, I think she knew what she was getting into.
[ Chase ]: So I'll leave her to it.
[ Kidman ]: Thank you...
[ Kidman ]: Goodnight, then...
[ Chase ]: I have a meeting to follow up, too.
[ Chase ]: Good night.
[ Chase ]: Stay safe.
[ Kidman ]: *pauses*
[ Kidman ]: That's not an option for me anymore.
[ Chase ]: What about keeping her safe?
[ Chase ]: That's an option still?
Kidman is suddenly angry
[ Chase ]: I'll take that as a yes.
[ Kidman ]: I'm giving my safety away for her! Don't you dare question what I'd do for her safety!
[ Chase ]: Cool down, I know.
[ Kidman ]: No, you don't.
[ Chase ]: Save it for when she really needs your protection.
[ Chase ]: No use wasting your energy now.
[ Kidman ]: The moment I came out of hiding I started the clock. I don't know how long I have. I will last as long as I can.
[ Kidman ]: As long as I can...
[ Chase ]: I hope you last too.
[ Chase ]: She'll need you.
[ Kidman ]: If I'm ever caught... it's over for me....
[ Kidman ]: You have no idea... h-how terrified I am
[ Chase ]: The only advice I can give is one you won't take.
[ Kidman ]: That is?
[ Chase ]: You'll have to stay away from her.
[ Chase ]: You know there's at least one detainment cell with her name on it.
[ Kidman ]: It's too late. It was always too late. In fact, Carmen was, and is my only chance.
[ Chase ]: Your only chance to what?
[ Chase ]: Redeem some past sin?
[ Kidman ]: Life.
Kidman bolts out the door.
[ Chase ]: ...
[ Chase ]: Goodnight...
[ Chase ]: Heh... VILE
